May Newsletter
I hope everyone has finally seen their last bit of snow until the holidays. It is so nice being able to have the windows open again.
Writing Updates
Moonlight Echoes - Dreamworld Chronicles Book #1
Not too many updates to add here other than it is with the new dev editor! Until the edits are done, I am mentally preparing to dive back into this world to make the story the best it can be before sending it out to the world.
Once I have the dev edits back, I will start looking into forming street teams. If you have ideas for names or would like to sign up, please keep an eye out around the end of May!
Codename: Stealth - Dreamworld Chronicles Book #2
No updates at this time either. Once I have dev edits back, expect updates to start coming for this story!
Codename: Magicless
Still working through the first draft on this story. I have been having so much fun exploring this world. At this time, it is still planned to be a standalone story, but a nagging thought keeps popping in where it might become a dualology to explore what happens at the end and the consequences of the characters actions.
There are some updates coming out on Patreon & Substack this month that will give some background to this story. I am hoping to have monthly updates on world building or snippets as this world comes together.
Codename: Twin Suns
This story is taking up much of my thoughts while waiting for Moonlight Echoes dev edits. This cast of characters is so much fun to play with. And the more I work on this rules of this world, the stranger and darker it becomes.
Currently I have about 60k words in this story written and have revised through chapter 12 to prepare for alpha readers. My goal is to have this story ready for alpha readers at the end of May so I can switch focus to Moonlight Echoes.
If a steampunk/dystopian fantasy/sci-fi world sounds like something you’d be interested in reading, you can find the form sign up here.
This month on Patreon and Substack I’ll be sharing some initial background on Twin Suns and the ideas behind it and the world it will take place in.
Art Updates
The art front is a little quiet this month as I have been a bit busy and have a hard time deciding what art I want next. There are some things in the works that will be coming along later. My wonderful cover artist, Marta, has me on the schedule to do the internal art and map for Moonlight Echoes towards the end of summer. I am also thinking of having character art done for Twin Suns in July once I have some alpha reader feedback, so stay tuned for those updates!
Author Updates
This spring a mocking bird family decided to nest in the bush next to the front porch. Over the last couple weeks they’ve grown so much and have started venturing out of the nest, although they are not flying yet. It has provided great entertainment for the cats to watch!
I don’t have any updated peach pictures to show, but they are growing like crazy also! I finally was able to get out there and spray them with organic fruit soap to prevent the bugs from getting to them first. Thankfully, the weather has stayed a little cooler than usual so there was not a bug issue yet. Sadly, since it has stayed colder this year, there does not seem to be as many peaches as we had last year.
As for me personally, I have been grateful for my new dev editor. It has really freed up my mind. I didn’t realize just how much the unknown was affecting me until there was a resolution. My creativity has been flowing much more freely and I’ve been able to find my motivation again.
I am debating on doing some lives this month as I write. If people join and want to chat and see what I’m working on cool. If not, that’s cool too. I’ll be using it as a way to mostly keep myself from distractions and accountable to keep writing. We’ll see how it goes.
That’s all the updates I can think to add for this newsletter. Thank you so much for reading my chaotic little email. Until next month!
